AutoAddictive is a buying guide website that helps classic car owners choose roof boxes, roof racks and interior accessories that suit older cars. This page explains how we pick and describe gear, and what we do not claim.
A focus on classic cars
Generic gear guides rarely consider curved roofs, rain channels, original paint or period trim. We write with those limits in mind, so each guide asks what a product could do to an older car as well as what it can carry or improve.
How we choose classic car gear
- Fit and load limits. We check the stated load rating, the roof or vehicle limit, and how the product mounts, such as gutter clamps, clips or straps.
- Contact points. We note which materials touch paint, chrome, rubber or headliner, and whether they could mark or wear them.
- Reversibility. We favour racks and accessories that can be removed without drilling or permanent changes to original bodywork.
- Specifications and owner feedback. We compare manufacturer specifications, installation instructions and published owner reviews.
- Clear limits. We say when a product may not suit every car, and when professional installation is worth considering.
What we do not claim
We do not claim laboratory testing or that we have used every product we write about. Product details can change, so check dimensions, weight limits and fit with the manufacturer before you buy or install anything.
